Weather Update

While the heavy rain and strong winds have eased in Southern Queensland and moved south over the boarder, the weather experienced last week has left the beaches along the Gold and Sunshine Coasts with damage and debris.

All of the beaches along the Gold Coast suffered severe erosion and remain closed this week while the clean up effort continues. They are scheduled to re-open by the end of this week.

Beaches along the Sunshine Coast are open, however dangerous conditions persist as a result from the strong winds.

All other areas of transport and infrastructure are operating as usual and the major touring routes of Southern Queensland are flood-free.

There is no longer a severe weather warning for Fraser Island. Tour operators are running and beaches are also open.
